Worlds Within II

“Worlds Within” is an ongoing series of abstract, varied edition, prints created using an aquatint alongside
letraset and marbled chine-colle. These prints are a step in bringing together my two worlds of bookbinding
and printmaking. Marbling has such a strong history within Western Bookbinding and has become my
space of exploring colour in ways I would have not been able to within my printmaking. Within the etching,
I aim to work with text not as bearers of information but rather abstract forms and images that are drawn
together to create an abstract image. Aquatint allows me to work with letters and letraset in such a unique
way, whereby it creates clean block outed images that open up a realm of possibilities when the chine-colle
is applied.
