Forgotten

With de Beers interest in the access to knowledge, particularly in the form of books, she
has been doing focused researched into archiving and library cataloguing practises and
systems. It is through her research that she has found the patriarchal and westerncentric bias that exists within institutional spaces. There are few institutional spaces that
are taking active steps to changing those bias. It is n these bias that the knowledge we
are given to consume is shaped and interpreted. There is a need to tell diverse stories,
histories and ways of thought. It is then that people are able to consume knowledge that
does not narrow their field of vision but allows for critical thinking.
